The Life You're Looking For Is Built in Ordinary Days

We spend so much of our lives waiting.

Waiting until we feel motivated. Waiting until Monday. Waiting until life is less busy. Waiting until we've lost the weight. Waiting until we feel confident enough.

As though life only begins when everything finally falls into place.

But what if this ordinary day is your life?

What if the cup of coffee before everyone else wakes up...
The walk with the dog...
Cooking a simple meal...
Reading a chapter of a book...
Sitting quietly in the garden...

What if these aren't the moments in between life? What if they are life? Somewhere along the way we've been taught to chase the big moments. The promotion. The holiday. The goal weight. The perfect house. The next achievement. Those things are wonderful. But they can't carry the weight of our happiness.

Most of our lives are lived in the ordinary. The question isn't whether your life is exciting enough. It's whether you're present enough to notice it.

I've found that peace rarely arrives with fireworks and believe me when I say I have waited for them..searched for them to give me the feeling I have been waiting for.

To be honest I have learnt that it arrives quietly.

It's choosing to slow your breathing before reacting.
It's putting your phone down for ten minutes.
It's making your bed because it helps you feel settled.
It's laughing with someone you love.
It's noticing the sun coming through the kitchen window.

Tiny moments. Almost invisible. Yet they are often the moments that shape a meaningful life. You don't have to wait until everything is perfect before you start living.

Your life isn't on hold. It's happening right now.

And perhaps the most beautiful thing you can do today is simply be fully present for it.
